Started when the first pandemic confinement hit, this is content that celebrates my past and informs a fresh vision forward. I have a fascination for experimental and challenging music and use it to inspire my creativity and many aspects of my daily drifts, so music does take center stage here. Glad if it resonates with you in some way and you discover something new here, in which case you should explore more and support the artists. Curated by Jorge Sampaio.

Cannibal Corpse
THE BLEEDING
The Bleeding was the 4th album by Death Metal band Cannibal Corpse. It was released in 1994 and was the last album to feature Chris Barnes on vocals (center in the picture). The Bleeding is the top Death Metal album sold in the US according to Soundscan with nearly 100,000 copies sold before the era of internet and streaming. It was also the band's first album to enter Billboard.
Apart from 1996's "Vile" which retains some of the key elements in structure and sound found in The Bleeding, I lost interest in the band and old-school Death Metal in general by the late 90's but this album is statement to a vibrant scene at the time. In here the band experiments with different tempos and added loads of variety to their sound along with a new found groove that sets this album apart from everything else at the time. To me it is a hell of catchy Death Metal album. If you bypass the gore imagery and unapologetically ludicrous lyrics and concentrate purely in the music, it is incredibly rewarding. And if Jim Carrey enjoyed it then so should you.
