Journal
I have a fascination for subcultures, specially those with a close-knit relationship with leftfield and challenging music, so music does take center stage here. Glad if it resonates with you in some way and you discover something new here, in which case you should explore more and support the artists.

Once there was ony Radio. And Radio hits recorded onto Cassettes. And then I started spending more time awake at night and the radio changed. There was Sex Pistols and Joy Division, The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees. And then there was The Sound. To call this album special is an understatement. Let's call it seminal. It is for me. In an era where you bought albums by word of mouth and cover art alone this album stuck with me for many reasons. It is still one of the albums I recommend the most to folks when talking about post-punk. Yes, most folks didn't pay attention to the band or the genius that was Adrian Borland. I was living in London when I got the news of his passing on 26 April 1999. It was a sad day. RIP

Band: NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS
Album: From her to Eternity (1984)
Track: Saint Huck (07:23)
This is my all time Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds favorite album because it marks an era. You see, it is a very different experience when you listen to an album upon its release or say 10 years after. It doesn't even matter that I've only discovered the music of Nick Cave around '87... it was all new to me and Nick was still in that kind of mood... I am lucky to have been there for the later part of the 80's and still see most of my favorite post-punk and industrial bands live, in Porto.. Nick Cave twice, PIL, Siouxsie, Killing Joke, Sisters of Mercy...
'Saint Huck' really shows Blixa's influence and I am absolutely floored everytime I hear it. Its so good to see Nick still including 'From Her to Eternity' (same level of delivery) in its most recent live performances (last time at Primavera Porto 2018)

Band: EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN
Album: Haus der Lüge (1989)
Track: Haus der Lüge (04:29)

Band: SISTERS OF MERCY
Album: First and Last and Always (1985)
Track: Marian (05:42)
'Marian' sure is a highlight of the album, the first single I heard back in the late 80's, but this album is all killers no fillers! From 'Walk Away' to 'No Time to Cry', from 'Possession' to the amazing 'Some kind of Stranger'. As a teenager I was listening to The Mission and Gene Loves Jezebel before I got my hands in this and I was imediately hooked by the slow pace of some of the tracks and the concurrent one-of-a-kind vocals by Andrew Eldritch.
