I have a fascination for subcultures, specially those with a close-knit relationship with leftfield and challenging music, so music does take center stage here. Glad if it resonates with you in some way and you discover something new here, in which case you should explore more and support the artists.

This is actually my favourite album by MBV. Loveless is a masterpiece but I find coming to some of the songs in this one more. Nowadays it's easy to choose your pick of album when you find a new band, and no one I know would argue that the right thing to do when checking out a 'new' band is to start with the debut of a band. But back in the day, you were presented with new music completely out of the blue, and even if not frequent I don't necessarily go with the universal consensus of one band's best album being x or y... in some notorious cases (this album and 'Goo' by Sonic Youth for instance) you end up appreciating the underdog more than anything else, because of what it meant, right there, right then. Isn't Anything is such an album for me.
