Mix 124 – #1

1988 was my first year at Uni. It was the year Pixies released Surfer Rosa, and Sonic Youth ‘Daydream Nation’, two defining albums of a new chapter in my life, a soundtrack to a coming of age era… it could’ve been KLF or Helloween but I am glad I was already leaning towards indie and alternative sounds by then. This kind of music was entirely new for me, radiating of a crazy energy fit for a freshman. What a year in music this was, one of the best: Bathory’s ‘Blood Fire Death’, My Bloody Valentine’s ‘Isn’t Anything’ and Nurse with Wound ‘Soliloquy For Lilith’ the first ambient/drone album I ever listened to. These are all 10/10 and amongst the most cherished albums in my collection.
