I am becoming a fan of Swedish musician and pipe organ enthusiast Anna Von Hausswolff. Her music has become a fixture in my Ambient mixes and some artists she has signed to her own label Pomperipossa are creating some justified impact as well, as is the case for Offermose (specially) and Drøne.
Siavash Amini released an interesting collab with author Eugene Thacker last year, that I completely missed. Songs for Sad Poets is exactly that, a collection of eight pieces drawing its inspiration from the legacy of the so-called cursed poets (poètes maudits) as well as the German-language tradition of song cycles and expands the structure of the classic art song through a process of lyric abstraction. It features a track dedicated to Portuguese Poet and Writer Mario de Sá-Carneiro: Opulent Night.
