Starting with what is arguably my favourite Ruins of Beverast track ever, taken from the masterpiece that is 2009’s oddly titled ‘Foulest Semen of a Sheltered Elite’, one of a number of stellar releases in a year that will go down in history. Think, Krallice, Aosoth, Detritivore, Altar of Plagues, Bloody Panda, Deagged Into Sunlight, Blut Aus Nord, Sunn o)), Portal, Arckanum, Impetuous Ritual, Here’s a strong mix of unique highlights from a bunch of by now legendary black metal bands. Special mention to some that have been very quiet… specially Leviathan and Ash Borer who’ve been quiet for 7 long years.
