The First 10 years . From the moment I’ve been interested in music and records, I thrived for the alternative, the experimental and the underground, eschewing mainstream and pop music. All of the albums between the infamous 1977 debut by the Sex Pistols and Love and Rockets’s 1987 ‘Earth, Sun Moon’ symbolise a decade of glorious exploration, as a teenager. The first contact with these records, the revolutionary new sounds, the learning of the bands and the subcultures, their fresh and subversive lifestyles, and the first live outings – which helped define who I am and how I got here – embody the emotional rollercoaster of that golden coming of age, the best music experiences I ever had, and some of my favourite albums ever.
